Back To School...

Hello my friends and visitors,

Sorry, I haven't post anything new in my blog lately. I've been busy at work since school started, like some of you know I'm a Preschool Teacher for over 10 yrs. Setting up my classroom, meeting my new students and parents and everything in between...but I'm soooo excited to meet them, they are a bunch of joy, so eager to learn and play.
I'm happy to get back to work after a long summer break.

Today is our fourth day of school and the children are getting used to the school, classroom and routines very well. I work in a VPK classroom and we have to work even harder this year to meet the standards and reach our goals. I love my school and our teaching staff are always giving their best to the children and the community. It's looking great soooo far!.

Hi everyone, hope you are having a warm and awesome Spring Break!

School is out = Relax!!!.
It's been a long time since I create a video so, I came across with Animoto, a free video/slide software where you can create nice short videos for FREE so, this is what I came up with, a short video of my original Scannography Liquid Art.

I got excited when I saw this video, released by The National Arts Program.

My artworks are in this video! Yeah!. I participated at the Orange County Visual & Performing Arts Exhibition 2011. You may see my artworks several time in the video; "Unsettled Emotions" inside the Chamber and "External Rebirth" at the Atrium. My sister Jessica Sadeghi also participate at this exhibition, her artwork is the one of the beach scene inside the Chamber. Check out our works at the Orange County, FL Administration Building. The exhibit will end on 1/19/2012.

My art contest submissions

As I've previously posted, I'm participating at the Orange County 6th Annual Visual and Performing Art Contest sponsored by The National Arts Program.

The exhibition and award ceremony will be this Friday December 2, 2011 and will be on display until January 19, 2012 at the Orange County Administration Center, Orlando FL.

I'm so excited, I can't wait!!!

My sister and I will be participating at this exciting event full of arts, performances, music and food and of course $$$PRIZES. I have a great feeling about our submissions.

I'm excited to introduce you to; Scannography Liquid Art

Last week I got inspired and began to experiment once again with my scanner and came up with this technique. I did over 20 scans using different colors and textures. It's easy but a little bit messy, but the results can speak for themselves! can wait to have them in prints!!!

I got about three pots of this beautiful plants to place them in the entrance of my house. I love Poinsettia plants for Christmas Decor, but of course knowing me well I know they will not survive this holiday season. Unfortunally I don't have a green thumb like my mom do, so I decided to give them to her so she can decorate her new home entrance and take care of them. I know they will be in good hands ;-)))

Do you know...

Plant taxonomy classifies Christmas poinsettias as Euphorbia pulcherrima, literally, "the most beautiful Euphorbia" (Euphorbia is not only a genus name, but also the name of a large plant family).

If Euphorbia pulcherrima is the scientific name for these plants, one may well ask how their common name (which looks like it should be a scientific name!) is derived. Well, the common name derives from the fact that Joel Roberts Poinsett, the first U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, introduced the first specimens to North America (1828).

Take Pictures with Your Photo Scanner!

☺☺☺You may already have a flatbed photo scanner to scan and save your old photos and documents into your computer. Now, anyone with this type scanner can also create great macro photography!

☺☺☺My first thought was to keep scanning flowers and plants. Then I realized.

You can scan anything that fits on the flatbed scanner glass!
Here are some of my NATURE INSPIRATIONS experimenting with my flatbed scanner:

A computer and a flatbed photo scanner

are all you need!

If you can 'scan and save' a document, you can enjoy 'scanography'.

All of the images on this site were created by me with my cheap photo scanner. If you're an experienced computer user, your Scanner Magic experience may be even more exotic and creative.

Fair Warning: Proceed with caution. Scanner photography may become habit forming.
