My Paintbrush...

I keep my paint brush with me
Wherever I may go,
In case I need to cover up
So the real me doesn’t show.

I’m so afraid to show you me,
Afraid of what you’ll do
That you might laugh or say mean things.
I’m afraid I might lose you.

I’d like to remove all my paint coats
To show you the real, true me,
But I want you to try and understand,
I need you to accept what you see.

So if you’ll be patient and close your eyes,
I’ll strip off all my coats real slow.
Please understand how much it hurts
To let the real me show.

Now my coats are all stripped off.
I feel naked, bare, and cold,
And if you still love me with all that you see,
You are my friend, as pure as gold.

I need to sae my paint brush, though,
And hold it in my hand.
I want to keep it handy
In case somebody doesn’t understand.

So please protect me, my dear friend,
And thanks for loving me true,
But please let me keep my paint brush with me
Until I love me too.

A MOTHER'S LOVE...

The day I became a mother was the was the happiest day of my life.

My daughter being born was the greatest gift, a blessing from God.

Words cannot begin to describe a mother's love for her child.

There is no love that could ever compare. As I watch Michelle Saraih growing into a beautiful young lady now. My heart is filled with pride. That little girl I have nurtured is growing so fast. My heart melts when I see her smile or hear her voice. There are times when I find myself just looking at her and thinking What would her future will be like? hoping that it will change and praying for good health and protection from any harm. My love for her grows stronger with each passing day. She's caring, loving, independent and beautiful all around and I know she will grow to be a productive citizen. She wants to be a Marine Biologists. As time keeps slipping away. Any mother who may read this, I'm sure can relate, and surly knows there is no bond greater or no love stronger than that of mother and child.

The Found Essay: "Letter from a Mother to a Daughter*

“My dear girl, the day you see I’m getting old, I ask you to please be patient, but most of all, try to understand what I’m going through. If when we talk, I repeat the same thing a thousand times, don’t interrupt to say: “You said the same thing a minute ago.” Just listen, please.

Try to remember the times when you were little and I would read the same story night after night until you would fall asleep. When I don’t want to take a bath, don’t be mad and don’t embarrass me. Remember when I had to run after you making excuses and trying to get you to take a shower when you were just a girl? When you see how ignorant I am when it comes to new technology, give me the time to learn and don’t look at me that way.

Remember, honey, I patiently taught you how to do many things like eating appropriately, getting dressed, combing your hair, and dealing with life’s issues every day. The day you see I’m getting old, I ask you to please be patient, but most of all, try to understand what I’m going through. If I occasionally lose track of what we’re talking about, give me the time to remember, and if I can’t, don’t be nervous, impatient, or arrogant.

Just know in your heart that the most important thing for me is to be with you. And when my old, tired legs don’t let me move as quickly as before, give me your hand the same way that I offered mine to you when you first walked. When those days come, don’t feel sad—just be with me, and understand me while I get to the end of my life with love. I’ll cherish and thank you for the gift of time and joy we shared.

With a big smile and the huge love I’ve always had for you, I just want to say,

I love you, my darling daughter.”

a way into the answer...

i beg you...to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. don't search for the answers, which could not be given you now, because you would not be able to live them. and the point is, to live everything. live the questions now. perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer...

It helps to know how we are doing inside. Our lives fly by and we don't even really know how we are. Use this affirmation everyday!. Remember that you are important and knowing you, is important too.

I enjoy reading and searching information about How To's articles whether is about Art making, Self Improvement for daily life, Inspiring Others, etc... and I came upon this one that really makes a lot of sense. Maybe misunderstood or that we all have different opinions about it because of our life journey experiences. What is Happiness? It is "Relative" or "Absolute" ? and What makes us Happy?

"In my opinion Happiness is a feeling that last only moments and that I must try to live those moments now, not plan happiness for the future. True happiness is within me. I have found Happiness and Energy in my own life as I struggle to overcome one obstacle after another, being active and free of fear through life. Just for being alive brings me joy. Being able to say; "Today, I did my best, Today, I have no regrets, Today, I won". Be Happy Where you Are

We often talk about the importance of being in the ‘here and now’. But, what do we actually mean by this? The nature of our mind is that it is often planning for happiness in the future. If we get that degree, job, relationship, if we can only move to where reasonable people live e.t.c – then we will be happy. But, with this attitude of planning for future happiness, means it will always remain elusive – like chasing a shadow.

We need to be happy whereever we are. Even in the most difficult of situations there are opportunities to be a little more cheerful and a little less frustrated. Don’t allow small things to knock you off balance, as this frustration can spoil the rest of our day.

The eyes is the window of the soul, where you can see dreams and emotions
Open your window and look at the beauty around you.
The eye absorb the colors, the shapes, curves, lines and textures around you and transmit them to the brain.
where you can create the masterpiece in life.
The eyes also speak volumes, a lot of things can be say by the eyes with just one look.

The eyes are one of our tools of expression all you have to do is open your window.

It is often said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it is, it really is.
All you have to do is change the way you look at things, see in a new way, a different way.

Empowering Hispanic Women

This Saturday I was invited by La Prensa newspaper to be part of the 4th annual HISPANIC WOMEN 2011 Awards Ceremony.

The ceremony began with a delicious lunch and the welcoming words of Dora Casanova Nelson, CEO & Publisher, La Prensa then came the Proclamations by several Florida's Commissioners, Greetings from Lead Sponsors, 2011 Awards Ceremony and my favorite; Introduction to Sister Ann Kendrick that move our hearts and lifting up our Hispanic spirits and told us on how she love our culture and supports our Hispanic Community.

This is a poem given at the ceremony;

And then all that has divided us will merge

And then compassion will be wedded to power

And then softness will come to a world that is harsh and unkind

And then both men and women will be gentle

And then both women and men will be strong

And then no person will be subject to another's will

And then all will be rich and free and varied

And then the greed of some will give way to the needs of many

And then all will share equally in the Earth's abundance

And then all will care for the sick and the weak and the old

And then all will nourish the young

And then will cherish life's creatures

And then all will live in harmony with one another and the Earth

And then everywhere will be called Eden once again.

"Butterfly Love"

Painted Lady Butterfly

"How does one become a butterfly?" she asked. "You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar."

Butterfly Wishes

Yesterday a butterfly
Came floating gently through the sky.
He soared up through the atmosphere
Then drifted close enough to hear.

I said, "I'd love to fly with you
And sail around the way you do.
It looks like it would be such fun
To fly up toward the summer sun.

But I have not your graceful charm.
I haven't wings, just these two arms.
I've been designed to walk around.
My human feet must touch the ground.

Then magically he spoke to me
and told me what his wish would be.

He said, "What I'd love most to do
Is walk upon God's Earth with you,
To squish it's mud between my toes
Or touch my finger to my nose.

I'd love just once to walk around
With human feet to touch the ground,
But I have not two legs that swing,
I haven't arms, just these two wings."

And so we went our separate ways
In wonder and surprise.
For we'd both seen God's precious gifts
Through someone else's eyes.
