A: Make sure you have the top of your Flatbed OFF and the lights in your room are OFF, this will make a dark background. Also, after you scan your images and save, go to your Editing software and do touch-ups if needed. For more dramatic backgrounds you may use:  Colored Cellophane pager, Lace, Fabrics, etc...Just play around with it! Let me know when you post any Scanography artwork in your blog!.
